We are so glad we chose Villa Tranquilla for our first visit to central Portugal, it was absolutely idyllic. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the quiet, peaceful setting—nestled among nature, the villa offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The hosts, Rebecca and Chris, truly made our stay exceptional. Rebecca welcomed us with open arms, making us feel right at home. Her warmth and attentiveness were remarkable, and both Chris and Rebecca always had great suggestions for things to do in the area. Chris is an incredible cook, every meal he prepared was a delight, we were thoroughly spoiled with delicious food throughout our stay.
One of the highlights of our trip was exploring the nearby river beaches, the area is full of natural beauty, and we spent hours relaxing, enjoying the tranquillity and beauty of the surroundings. The private pool at the apartment was another highlight—perfect for lazy afternoons spent soaking up the sun.
If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with fantastic hosts, Villa Tranquilla is the place to be. We left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and very much looking forward to returning. Highly recommended!

It was our first trip to Portugal and Villa Tranquilla was certainly the place to relax after a long journey from NE England. Set in woodland the sounds of cuckoo and woodpeckers added to the tranquility. Rebecca is a great host and Chris is great cook - we took advantage of their offer to provide evening meals (at an extra charge) which was particularly welcome after a day exploring Coimbra with its Roman aqueduct and historic university. The guest pool area is the perfect place to chill, with excellent views of the area. We loved Central Portugal and Villa Tranquilla and are already thinking about our next visit.

We had a great stay! It is a great space in the summer, with a private pool and amazing visits, super quiet, outdoor kitchen with terrace and barbecue space. It has everything you can need for a few days of quiet, to charge batteries! Thank you for your welcome! ☺️

It was apparent that the property was treated with great care. The space was clean, tidy, and we were offered small amenities that made this stay even more special. The outdoor space was also constantly looked after, without feeling our privacy was invaded at all. An idyllic and romantic space, perfect for a getaway.

+ All it had to offer just for the two of us wrapped up in the hosts sympathy: welcome gifts, pool, volley/badmington court, swings, barbecue area, kitchen, sun loungers + table and chairs both in the pool area and patio area, lots of different flowers, the lights at night, the quietness, the trails around...
