After a few weeks travelling around Portugal in a roof tent camping we stayed at the apartment here and the attention to detail and the peace and quiet was absolute bliss. We got a very warm welcome from the hosts and we were blown away by the private space available to us with private pool and the views are amazing. The meals provided were delicious and the wealth of knowledge of the area and tips on places to visit, good restaurants and cafes and best places to shop was a really nice touch. Rebecca and Chris are excellent hosts, they pulled out all the stops to make sure we were comfortable and made the most of our 2 night stay… 2 nights wasn’t nearly enough!.. This is the kind of place you can go back to time and time again and never have enough of it. 5 stars from us.

+ This is the second year we've been to Rebecca and Chris's house. As expected, everything went flawlessly.
It's the ideal place to spend a few days in complete peace and quiet. The entire area is private, which definitely makes the stay 5-star.
This year, we had the company of a stray cat, who visited us almost every day. 😊
Without a doubt, it is and will continue to be one of our favorite vacation spots. We hope to return next year!

A wonderful place to stay for a peaceful and tranquil vacation with great hosts to help you along the way.
+ This was without doubt the best self catering property we have ever stayed at. The property is set in beautiful countryside with wonderful views. The facilities are exceptional and include a private swimming pool, barbecue area and much more. The attention to detail and cleanliness is apparent throughout. Rebecca and Chris are great hosts with a wealth of local knowledge. The meals they provided for us were excellent and plentiful. Would recommend a stay here without hesitation.

+ Estava tudo incrível, sem dúvida a melhor estadia que tive, a casa era super completa e confortável, o espaço era ótimo, com barbecue, cozinha e bastante privacidade, apesar de termos tido azar com o clima houve todas as comodidades para estarmos confortáveis e aproveitarmos igualmente. Acima de tudo o que mais nos agradou foi a host Rebecca que foi de uma simpatia e amabilidade sem igual, sempre muito prestável, fez os possíveis para que a nossa estadia fosse o mais confortável possível, para além da surpresa de aniversário que fez para o meu namorado quando soube que era o aniversário dele. Foi tudo ótimo e vamos repetir sem sombra de dúvida.

+ Everything was totally perfect, we had such a lovely stay. The pool, the bbq area, the room, everything is so cosy and allowed us to relax while still being close to many river beaches. Chris and Rebecca are incredible hosts and made us feel like we were home. Definitely will come back!

We are so glad we chose Villa Tranquilla for our first visit to central Portugal, it was absolutely idyllic. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the quiet, peaceful setting—nestled among nature, the villa offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The hosts, Rebecca and Chris, truly made our stay exceptional. Rebecca welcomed us with open arms, making us feel right at home. Her warmth and attentiveness were remarkable, and both Chris and Rebecca always had great suggestions for things to do in the area. Chris is an incredible cook, every meal he prepared was a delight, we were thoroughly spoiled with delicious food throughout our stay.
One of the highlights of our trip was exploring the nearby river beaches, the area is full of natural beauty, and we spent hours relaxing, enjoying the tranquillity and beauty of the surroundings. The private pool at the apartment was another highlight—perfect for lazy afternoons spent soaking up the sun.
If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with fantastic hosts, Villa Tranquilla is the place to be. We left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and very much looking forward to returning. Highly recommended!
